Romonia Atchison

Romonia Atchison-she/her, MSW is a Blavin Campus Coach that has several years of experience as a child welfare worker working with children and families as a Case Manager, Foster Care Case Worker, and Outpatient Therapist. Romonia enjoys working with young adults and assisting them with their personal and academic needs that focuses on their strengths, areas of positive interests, and career plans, along with providing teachable moments to improve upon essential life skills for self-sufficiency. Romonia earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and earned

Robin Banks

Robin Ford - she/her- is a Campus Coach, in her coaching role Robin partners one on one with the Blavin Scholars to help them navigate and enhance their experience at the University of Michigan. Prior to working at the University of Michigan, Robin worked 15 years for the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in several different Capacities which included: Foster Care Specialist, Adult Services Specialist, Prevention Specialist and most recently a Children’s Protective Services Specialist.  Robin is a two time graduate of Eastern Michigan University.

Jessica Campbell

Jessica R. Campbell (JC) – she/her - LMSW, has considerable work experience as a mental health provider assisting youth who have experienced trauma and serving students who have experienced time in foster care and/or homelessness. Jessica holds a Masters degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University, a Bachelors of Arts degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management and Certification in Nonprofit Leadership from Grand Valley State University.

Yoniqua Coleman

Yoniqua Coleman – (Nikki) - she/her – M.A., has considerable work experience assisting individuals, families, and communities with various social service needs. Yoniqua holds a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Yoniqua worked as a Child Protective Service Specialist with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Detroit Police Department as a civilian investigator, and the 36th District Court as a program coordinator.

Mikaila LaClear

Mikaila LaClear - she/her -, BASW earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Hope College. Immediately following she began her career working for a non-profit in Grand Rapids. Mikaila has spent the last two years working with young adults experiencing homelessness to secure and maintain permanent housing stability. Through this work, Mikaila discovered her passion for advocacy and learned how to use her power to fight for access and improved service delivery. Mikaila really enjoys working with young people and uses lived experience to relate to folks experiencing hardship.
