Blavin Scholars

Blavin Scholars have an exciting opportunity to share their experiences at the University of Michigan with prospective students who have experienced time in foster care and other key partners who support their success through Blavin Scholars Program Outreach and Recruitment Events. The Blavin Scholars Program Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator organizes presentations, trainings, and campus tours for prospective students and Blavin Scholars can serve on a panel and share their experiences. Blavin Scholars must participate in a minimum of one Outreach and Recruitment Event each year. Blavin Scholars receive support in strategic sharing prior to serving on the panels and a Blavin Program Staff Member is always present to moderate the question and answer portion of the session. The focus of the panel sessions is on the student experience of Blavin Scholars at the University of Michigan and within the Blavin Scholars Program.

There are always many Outreach and Recruitment Events to choose from, please see below for some options. Blavin Scholars are welcome to contact Blavin Scholars Program Outreach and Recruitment Team at, with interest in serving on a panel at an event or for support in choosing a panel that meets individual availability, comfort, and needs.
